Yin & Reiki: Rest, restore & heal

Yin & Reiki: Rest, restore & heal

2-4pm, Saturday January 26th, Holdspace, Angel.  £25

Take some time out for yourself this January for some yin yoga, rest and healing.

Danielle will guide you through a nourishing Yin Yoga sequence to prepare you to deeply release and let go as we move into an extended Savasana.

Yin Yoga is all about slowing down, in a world where we spend so much time in our "yang" fast paced energy, yin can bring you back to your centre, enabling you to soften and simply be.  Reiki is a non-invasive healing technique that works with the chakras and endocrine system and improves the natural flow of energy in the body.  These modalities work beautifully together to create space for stillness, peace and healing.

As you relax, Danielle and Georgie will move through the room giving Reiki to your head and feet, there will be plenty of time to soak up this beautiful energy before waking, feeling renewed and deeply rested.

Danielle is a Yoga & Reiki teacher who is passionate about giving people the space to tune into their bodies and find moments of stillness and peace.

Georgie is a Reiki healer who offers healing in a joyful and playful way. Georgie is devoted to encouraging others to love themselves and in turn find confidence within themselves to live true to their heart.

Food at Heart - Mindful Hot Chocolate Meditation

Take some time out to breathe, taste and get body connected during this belly calming session of meditation – and hot chocolate!

Meredith Whitely is a mindful eating guide and meditation teacher with a passion for all things cacao. She will guide you through this gentle session with a focus on soothing your body and helping you feel connected with your senses.

Chocolate is a beautiful ingredient full of aromas and warming it up into a magical concoction is a tasty way to experience the soothing benefits of meditation and mindful awareness.

What can you expect?

– Gentle opening meditation to calm your system and help get you body-connected

– Guided mindful hot chocolate meditation engaging all your senses; we’ll slowly sip and savour a shot of delicious dairy free hot chocolate using Meredith's special Slow Chocolate recipe

– Short closing meditation to help you leave the workshop feeling calm and soothed (this varies from month to month to cover different types of meditation, such as a body scan, loving kindness or guided visualisation)

You’ll receive a special chocolatey treat to take away and taste (mindfully!) using some of the techniques we’ll explore in the workshop.

Meredith will also share ways you can extend breathing and mindfulness techniques into everyday living. There will be plenty of time to ask questions as you explore the different techniques.

This meditation workshop is suitable for new and experienced meditators. Meditation is a very personal experience and there’s no right or wrong way to feel about it! However, we won’t be aiming to transcend to any higher planes or tap into different states of consciousness; this workshop is about grounding, connecting and calming.

Please note if you are suffering from certain diagnosed mental health conditions (including clinical depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder) you should always seek support your supporting clinician before taking part in meditation. Meredith will send a form to complete ahead of the workshop to help you identify any information or support you should seek before taking part in the session.

SHAKTI, SHAKTIPAT, KUNDALINI:
Shaktipāt means a transference of Shakti (the spiritual energy of the Self) from the master to the student (you) with the aim of awakening the otherwise dormant Kundalinī in you, so that the Kundalinī Shakti (divine energy) begins to work for your enlightenment. Shaktipāt initiation grants you the grace of a semi-automatic sādhana (spiritual practice and path) known as Shaktipāt Yoga, Siddha Yoga (Perfect Yoga) or Kundalinī Maha Yoga (the Greatest Yoga). Rather than you reaching out to the Self, the Self now reaches out to you. This is grace and is the hallmark of Shaktipāt Siddha Yoga. It has to be given to you by an enlightened Siddha. You cannot learn it by study or get it through your own effort. Once you have received Shaktipāt and your Kundalinī (inner Shakti) has become active, you are a Siddha Yogi – a follower of the Siddha path.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Self-realization is the ultimate and the most desirable state to be attained, and the awakened Kundalini leads to this state. Awakening the Kundalini has a general purifying effect on the body and mind. For example, the health often improves, the one often feels light and energetic, the mind becomes restful. Diseases of the body and mind are caused by irregularities in the functioning of the prana, which can be gradually eliminated once the Kundalini is awakened.
At more advanced levels of the Kundalini’s progress the one can achieve peace and mental control, can become more creative, can develop a profound understanding of nature and experience inner joy. The aspirant becomes a stronger individual, a more complete person who can function in adverse circumstances with great poise, and is able to consciously absorb prana from the universe and direct it for physical and mental well-being. Ultimately, the student encounters total reality, the absolute truth, knowledge of the Self.

MEDITATION:
Shaktipāt will connect you with divine grace. Meditation is the way to get that grace flowing. Shaktipāt without meditation is not enough, neither is meditation without shaktipāt. It is like gasoline (Shakti) and a car (meditation). The car needs gasoline to work, and gasoline without a car won’t take you anywhere. Similarly, meditation without Shakti is dry and slow and like fumbling in the dark in fruitless attempts to reach the Self. And if you have received Shaktipāt and don’t invite the awakened energy (Kundalinī Shakti) to work in you, which is what you do when meditating, you won’t get far.

BIO:
Jan Esmann is an enlightened Shaktipāt master living in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he teaches, transmits and gives Shaktipāt. The highest teachings are transmitted in silence during meditation or afterwards. Jan is not part of any tradition or represents a lineage.
He has a MA in History of Modern Culture and a B.Sc in Art-restoration. He earns his living as an artist, a writer and a software developer.

Hush Baby No Rush - Baby Massage Course

 Dates : 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th March 10am-11am

Hello. My name is Kasia Kropidlowska. I’m a mother of two beautiful minds. I have massaged them since their first months. It helped me during my first postnatal period to bond with my daughter instead of focussing on what were negative emotions around my care at the time. I have experienced first-hand the benefits of baby massage and it never stops surprising me how powerful this art is. While working in private healthcare, I saw how emotional and significant pregnancy, birth and parenthood are. I decided to change my career and learn new skills so I could provide support in this vulnerable time. It’s a huge privilege to be part of a life changing event such as a birth and to nurture women postnatally. I have been working as a volunteer doula and as breastfeeding peer support for some time. Certification with ‘International Association of Infant Massage’ just made sense and I was trained by Sylvie Hétu. It is an honour to have Vimala McClure as a mentor. She is the mother of infant/baby massage and set up the gold standards in training and expertise since the 70’s. IAIM is the only organisation dedicated solely to Infant Massage and it's spread over 70 countries. It feels like I’m part of huge family that shares experience and knowledge but at the heart of it are parents/carers and their babies. It’s all about you!

The IAIM adheres to uncompromised ways of working that promote infant safety and wellbeing above all else. Many of the infant massage strokes used and taught by the IAIM are unique to the Association, and are constantly monitored and modified in accordance with health professionals’ guidelines. What’s more, all qualified IAIM instructors are given on-going professional development to ensure their techniques are always the most relevant and of the highest standards.

Classes are offered to all babies from birth to 12 months.

Over 5 sessions we will do some relaxation, discussions around baby related subjects like sleeping, crying and colic, and of course massage. You may learn some tricks that will assist you in every day life challenges when everything goes a bit gaga.

Sessions are baby led and I will make necessary adjustments on the spot, when needed, so everybody can relax and connect with their babies wrapped up in soothing and non-judgmental blanket.

I will provide the dolls for you to practise when your baby is sleeping or when you come with your partner or older child.

All baby products are organic and you will be provided with the choice of oils to suit your baby/babies most.

During our graduation session you will be provided with lovely gift bag containing IAIM booklet, certificate and some extra goodies.

Prices:

Block of 5 hourly sessions - £65.00

How to manifest your happily ever after: a journey of embracing your abundant self

How to manifest your happily ever after: a journey of embracing your abundant self

You may have been looking for love in many different places but still feeling that true and lasting happiness keeps eluding you.  You either fall in love too quickly, or find yourself staying  in a relationship that doesn’t work for too long, or choose to avoid romantic relationships with men completely. Sometimes, you might be hearing a voice in your head which is telling you: “You are just not good enough to have a happy fulfilling relationship… ”

Is there a part of you that wishes that…

  • Instead of endlessly searching for love and belonging, you could feel whole and at peace while letting love find you…

  • You could allow yourself to be the centre of your own Universe and, at the same time, be the centre of your partner’s Universe, too…

  • Receiving love for yourself was as easy as breathing…

  • You felt deep in your soul that living ‘Happily Ever After’ is your birth right and a true possibility…

  • You could let go of striving and self-judgement, and just knew that you are enough…

If your answer is “YES!” this one day long immersive workshop for women is for you. Why? Because you are not meant to figure it out all alone.

In an intimate circle of a maximum 10 participants we are going to embark on a magical journey into the centre of our Heart’s Universe and re-discover our power to manifest Happily Ever After and the life we most desire. All day long we are going to be exploring, sharing, creating, listening, reflecting, playing and learning. We will be allowing ourselves to show up and connect with each other authentically and without judgement.  We will be supporting one another and allowing ourselves to be supported.

After the workshop, you can expect the following results:

  • having an insight into what has been holding you back in your search for love and how to let it go

  • feeling that you are enough

  • feeling more able to receive love

  • having a better sense of what is good for you

  • feeling more in tune with what love means to you

  • having a vision and a strategy for manifesting your Happily Ever After.

Date:   31 March 2019

Time:   9:30 am – 5:30 pm

Location:   HOLDSPACE, Wynford Hall, Risinghill Street, London, N1 9SY (a 7-min. walk from Angel tube station, Northern Line, or a 15-min. walk from King’s Cross).

Full price: £110 – if booked after 31 January 2019

The Fluid Body
May
12
11:00 AM11:00

The Fluid Body

A workshop that really is more like a scrumptious extended practice where you'll have time and permission to play, explore and be creative with movements, transitions and poses.

While stringing together movements that are yoga and mobility inspired, I will guide into a journey deep into your bones. I will teach you how to move from your bones strongly and softly. It is common to create rigidity and gripping when wanting to build a stronger and mobile body but that isn't necessary. When we learn to soften, to work with the body, instead of against it, we have the ability to create strength and suppleness at the same time.

I love teaching this workshop because you will have plenty of time to play and be curious about yoga poses and beyond them.

More than giving you a set of instructions and how you should feel while moving or holding a pose, I will ask you to look in and find answers on your own. I will give you permission to create and own your own experience. Because this is invaluable and you are entitled to your experience.

How do you earth your hands when you are in all 4s?
How does earthing create expansion? In which directions do you feel the expansion?
What happens when you push into the ground? When you pull?
How do you experience the space around you? How do you move your bones in the space around you? How is gravity playing with your bones?
How can we ground and be light?

This is a practice that has no level.
Whatever stage you’re at with you movement, please know that you are very welcome to join.

There will be music playing with your eardrums.
There will be sounds that your vocal chords will create when we open the practice with chanting a mantra.
Your nostrils, throat and spine will light up at the touch of your own breath.

If you would like to experience a practice out of the box, out of the labels, fun, challenging and liberating, a practice that gives you the tools to bring you closer to your deeper self and far from a set sequence, this is the workshop for you.

And I can't wait to meet you."

--- UnEarthed & Wild Awakening present ---

Slow down | Recharge | Shine Brighter

The days are cold, the nights are long
We are back to work yet deep in winter
The trees are bare, our gardens asleep
Ah sleep, hibernation is calling

Sisters oh sisters here our call.

We invite you to stop and breathe for a moment

Breathe and imagine a different way

Stay cocooned inside, yet do so with intention

Intention to connect. Intention to love. Intention to be soft.

This night is an invitation
From our hearts to yoursOpen your heartsBe still to connect inwardsBe seen & be heard

Sisters we invite you to step into the circle.
Sara of Wild Awakening begins the evening. The intent is clear.  To ground, to reconnect back to yourself and open your heart. Back to your truth and tune into how you really are.You will receive, you will rest and connect to your inner-self and the earth.
Feel safe, be held, and witnessed by the sisters in the circle.
Relax, be guided through a practise of scents, foot massage, meditation, movement and song. All is welcome. All that you are.

With warmth, space and love, Sarah of UnEarthed, invites you on a journey.A Journey of intention. A journey to map you shining brighter in your life. A vision of how you want to feel, heartfelt. Intention is not a task to be done, or goal to be accomplished…it is a guiding principal for how you want to feel in this one and beautiful life.Setting an intention is like drawing a map of the path you desire, for how you want to live and be in your world.
Both Reiki practitioners, we will weave healing throughout the evening.
Our intention is for you to leave with a clear intention, a sense of well-being and harmony as we begin this new year. An understanding that each week, each month, each new moon, you can start anew.

Power of Emotions Workshop

Power of Emotions Workshop

Join us for an inspiring workshop- “Power of Emotions”. Our feelings are a magical gateway to our intuition and they give us clear messages about what we truly need and want. All of our feelings are valuable and by connecting with and listening to them, we can access their innate wisdom and healing power.

However, we have been conditioned to suppress our feelings and many of us find feelings like anger, sadness, shame and anxiety challenging to be with. We tend to use different coping strategies to escape our feelings such as food, shopping, social media or alcohol. When we get triggered in our relationships, it can be difficult not to react.

Feeling the whole range of our emotions is very healthy and empowering.

In this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Be present and connect with your feelings in an embodied way
- Listen to the messages your feelings want to give you
- Use tools and exercises to assist you with moving through and releasing your emotions
- Create the feelings you want to have

You will also have the opportunity to experience how colour, music and dance can empower us to connect with our feelings and shift our emotional state. We will create a very safe, respectful space and will guide you through a freestyle dance session which will inspire you to let go and connect with your beautiful, radiant self. You will feel energised, uplifted and free!

You will leave this workshop feeling empowered, inspired and alive!

The first 5 women to register will get the super earlybird rate! Click on the link below to get your ticket and for more information.

The Trove - Lucid Dreaming Workshop

The Trove - Lucid Dreaming Workshop

In this workshop, you will learn all about the practice of Lucid Dreaming and how to integrate it into your life. Neil Greenwood will lead us in a practical and illuminating exploration of our dreamscape, guiding us in making the subconscious, conscious.

Did you know that ‘Lucid Dreaming’ is a higher sensory power of ours? We are typically aware of our 5 senses, and occasionally delve into the mystical by opening up to what we like to call a ‘sixth sense’. But there are so many more sensory perceptions available to us when we choose to train our minds and bodies.

Lucid dreaming occurs in a sleeping state, when your awareness effectively wakes and you realise that you are in fact dreaming. From this point on you can play an interactive role in the dreamscape, taking control of the environments and people around you, even choosing the exact adventures that you wish to journey upon.

Read more:

Learn more, before our event, about Lucid Dreaming in this article from Neil Greenwood.

Reading Alchemy: Tarot and Crystal Workshop

It’s no secret that crystals play a role in intuitive and healing work - and have done for thousands of years, thanks to their energetic properties and vibrational value. We have designed a workshop for tarot readers and crystal-lovers to enhance their intuitive practices. Starting with the role of the chakra system and how it is applied, we move onto how crystals can support intuition, clarity and provide protection and healing.

The two-hour session will see a combination of theory and practical, covering:

  • Introduction to the chakra system

  • Crystals and the chakra system

  • Tarot and the chakra system (practical)

  • Overview of the Major Arcana and what each represents

  • Crystals to help overcome Major Arcana challenges

  • Three-card spread (practical)

  • How crystals can be used to enhance different types of tarot reading intentions

  • How to care for your crystals and the tarot

A booklet of the workshop's teachings will be provided for attendees to take home.

(This workshop is suitable for those with some prior knowledge of the tarot in order to get the most out of the workshop, however beginners are also welcome should they desire to attend.)

Please note: Attendees are required to please bring their own tarot deck (Rider Waite if possible).

Crystals will be provided on the day for attendees to borrow and use, but if you would like to bring your own, you are welcome to do so.

For those who want to treat themselves, a selection of crystals will also be on sale at the event to purchase afterwards (cash or card accepted).

So, if you feel it's time to improve your tarot practice by incorporating crystals, then this workshop can support you on this journey.

-

The event will be hosted by Fiongal Greelaw, founder at The Wellness Foundry specialising in tarot readings, psychic readings, reiki, past life regression and yoga.

Charlotte Vida Stow at The House of Palms will be co-hosting, due to her knowledge and training in India on crystal healing, which she applies to her reflexology practices at her East London base.

Head & Hands - Graphology Unraveled : What Does Your Handwriting Reveal?

Head & Hands - Graphology Unraveled : What Does Your Handwriting Reveal?

What can your handwriting possibly say about you? From your unique character traits to your deep-seated beliefs, from your skills and interests to your fears and ambitions. Your individual written expression provides all the clues, if you're curious to decipher them?

Graphology explores the structure and movement of the written forms - slants, angles and spacing are accurately measured and even the pressure is examined and magnified with the utmost precision.

Handwriting can help us understand other people without ever needing to meet them, and can give us insight into lost family members, or people from history we never got to know. Our personal pen marks can assist with self-development, careers guidance, or even relationship compatibility.

In this fun introductory workshop, you will gain insight into what is involved in the process of handwriting analysis, and learn to recognise the basic principles of Graphology.

You can expect

  • An in-depth introduction to the basic principles of Graphology from a leading expert
  • To uncover the person behind a number of famous handwritten case studies
  • To use what you've learned to examine your own handwriting and samples of others in the group with guidance from a professional Graphologist

We will unlock seemingly coded scripts of famous and infamous people. As we deconstruct and interpret the handwriting, you will be invited to guess who drove the pens.

We will then examine our own handwriting, unraveling the person behind each sample.

Tracey Trussell's background in graphology stems from a serendipitous moment over a decade ago. Now, a leader in the field, from just a couple of handwritten sentences, her work offers far-reaching insight into people, personalities, and behavior.

Handwriting is as rare as our DNA and fingerprints, which is why graphology is so valuable. Tracey's work provides insight into personality, behaviour, skills, motivation, potential and compatibility. Her areas of specialism are wide, shining a light on a broad spectrum of issues that confront us all each day. She is also an accredited tutor and mentor at the British Institute of Graphologists, the UK's professional body of handwriting analysts. She founded Handright in 2008, and began practicing professionally as well as taking students.

Her fascinating character analyses through handwriting have been commissioned for The Telegraph, Daily Mail, Independent, Mirror newspapers, as well as magazines such as Time Out, and Stylist.

If you wish, you may bring

  • A pen you are familiar with using
  • A sample of your handwriting produced naturally (without over-thinking) please note this is not essential as there will be an opportunity to produce a sample at the workshop

All attendees will receive a discount voucher for a personal global handwriting analysis from Tracey Trussell following the session.
